2. Breaking a Store Window:

In his second attempt, Soapy throws a stone through the window of a shop, assuming the police will come and arrest him for vandalism. However, when the policeman arrives, he merely assumes that someone else did it and chases after a different suspect, ignoring Soapy entirely.

3. Causing a Disturbance in a Restaurant:

Next, Soapy enters a less fancy restaurant, orders food, and eats well. When the bill arrives, he admits he cannot pay, expecting to be arrested. However, instead of calling the police, the restaurant's staff throws him out onto the street.

4. Public Disorderly Conduct:

In another attempt, Soapy begins acting disorderly and obnoxiously on the street. He loudly harasses women passing by, hoping to be arrested for disturbing the peace. However, instead of arresting him, the policeman assumes that Soapy is a harmless drunk and ignores him.

5. Stealing an Umbrella:

Finally, Soapy sees a man leave an umbrella unattended and takes it, hoping that the man will call the police. However, the man confesses that he likely stole the umbrella himself, so he doesn't want to involve the police. Once again, Soapy’s plan fails.

Despite these increasingly absurd efforts, Soapy remains free, until he unexpectedly gets arrested later for simply loitering in front of a church—right after he decides to change his ways. This twist adds to the irony and humor of the story.

2. दुकानाची काच फोडणे:

दुसऱ्या प्रयत्नात सोपी एका दुकानाच्या खिडकीवर दगड मारून काच फोडतो. त्याला वाटतं की पोलिस त्याला अटक करतील. परंतु, पोलीस त्याला अटक न करता दुसऱ्या संशयिताचा पाठलाग करतात.

3. हॉटेलमध्ये पैसे न देता बाहेर जाणे:

त्यानंतर सोपी एका कमी दर्जाच्या हॉटेलमध्ये जातो, चांगलंच जेवतो आणि नंतर बिल भरायला पैसे नसल्याचं सांगतो. मात्र, तिथले कर्मचारी त्याला पोलिसांकडे न जाता बाहेर हाकलून देतात.

4. सार्वजनिक ठिकाणी गोंधळ घालणे:

यावेळी सोपी रस्त्यावरून जाणाऱ्या महिलांना त्रास देऊन गोंधळ घालतो, असं करताना त्याला वाटतं की त्याला शांतीभंग केल्याबद्दल अटक होईल. मात्र, पोलीस त्याला हानीकारक समजून दुर्लक्ष करतात.

5. छत्री चोरणे:

अखेरीस, सोपी एका माणसाची छत्री उचलतो आणि त्याला वाटतं की हा माणूस पोलिसांना बोलावेल. पण, माणूस म्हणतो की छत्री कदाचित त्यानेच कुठेतरी चोरली आहे, त्यामुळे पोलिसांना न बोलवण्याचा निर्णय घेतो.

या सर्व प्रयत्नांनंतरही सोपीला अटक होत नाही. परंतु, जेव्हा तो एक चर्चच्या बाहेर उभा असतो आणि त्याच्या जीवनात बदल करण्याचा निर्णय घेतो, तेव्हा त्याला साध्या लहान कारणाने अटक केली जाते, जणू त्याच्या प्रयत्नांची खिल्ली उडवली जाते.
